I was right to bring my old passport when I bought this microSIM. I presented both my current passport and the old one, and they copied it as evidence. It's expired though...^^;
I had been using a prepaid SIM and an old Android device in Equator. It was a dual SIM device, so I was able to use it conveniently by inserting it in two SIMs, the telkomsel SIM in Jakarta, but recently I've been having a lot of trouble.
It still works fine as a phone, but there are noticeable issues with the processing speed and version not keeping up with the apps (Android 6...it's the Marshmallow era...I can't do any more than that), so I decided to change my device to a new one. However, that means I have to change the SIM as well. All recent devices are nanoSIM, so they can't be used with a microSIM. Although the old device wasn't broken, it worked for almost 7 years, so it's enough. Thank you for your hard work.
On the way home, I stopped by an electronics store and picked up a new phone that was on sale. When I got home, I quickly set up the nanoSIM I had been given and completed the transfer from my old phone. I also managed to set up the taxi app that I couldn't install on my previous phone♪ The camera also has three modern lenses, so it looks like it will be comfortable to use.
The new phone is also a dual SIM, but for now the other slot is still empty. I think I'll use it again with two SIMs in it at some point.
I had the microSIM I'd been using for years changed to a nanoSIM. I asked at a SingTel store and they gave me a new one that was compatible with all sizes with no handling fee. Thank goodness. The old microSIM is on the far right.
