When I first started my tea classes, I thought of Western-style tableware as something to use at teatime, so I often used different tableware for everyday meals than the ones I used in the classroom.
After moving to my current house 12 years ago, the classroom space became my everyday space, and I had more opportunities to eat lunch and dinner with my staff at home, so before I knew it, I was using Western-style tableware for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all other occasions.
Plates and soup plates are used more frequently than teatime. Of course, glasses are also a daily companion. The photo is from the weekend dinner table.
I had three lessons that day, so I was busy, so I made my favorite Picard frozen lentil salad, potato gratin, my favorite chicken ham that I ordered, and scones instead of bread... and toasted with sparkling wine.
I've been obsessed with the combination of scones and cream cheese lately. I'm going to show everyone how delicious it is.
The gratin dish is Royal Albert. The large plate and side plate are antique Minton. The glasses are Baccarat and Moselle.
It took 30 minutes to prepare, and then we said "Let's eat". But when I looked at the photos later, I thought it was surprisingly elegant. This is the effect of gorgeous Western tableware.
When you start enjoying Western tableware in your daily life, you learn a lot as you use it, such as the size of the tableware that is convenient, the convenience of the items, the ease of serving, and the durability when you use it frequently. I think it's interesting.
I hope that the Tableware Festival will not end on that day, but that you will continue to have your own "Tableware Festival" at home ❤
